Thiptara Restaurant with Burj Khalifa Lights
After the Burj Khalifa, dinner brought us back down to the water.

We caught an Uber and were dropped off at The Palace Hotel. A beautiful arrival with arched entryways, warm light, and a scent that immediately made you slow down. From there, it was a short walk to Thiptara, tucked quietly behind the hotel along Burj Lake.

We were seated on the patio, which turned out to be the best choice. Front-row views of the dancing fountains and the Burj Khalifa lit up above us. Water, light, and movement all happening at once…impossible not to watch.

The drinks were excellent. The food delivered. Everything felt easy and well-paced.

The only thing missing was our son. This evening was meant to celebrate his birthday, but he hadn’t arrived in Dubai yet. We felt his absence in the middle of all the beauty and really wished he was here.
Ironically, the restaurant didn’t know and surprised us with a birthday dessert anyway. A funny, unexpected moment that made us laugh. A hilarious end to the night.

Not perfect.
But almost.
And still very good.
