Travel Day

It’s travel day.

A late night followed by an early morning. Today only feels manageable because we know where we’re headed. Months of preparation have finally led to this moment…right here.

The day starts quietly. Prayer. Breakfast. Work, done with one eye on the clock. Time stretches a little when you’re waiting to leave.

Eventually, it’s time.

When preparation turns into movement. ✨

I’m taking this trip with family, which already makes it feel special. We’re headed to visit Dubai, but first, Paris.

The Uber arrives and the ease continues. Bags checked. Security cleared. Everything moves smoothly, which feels like its own small blessing. This trip is already starting off well.

All here. Ready to go. 🇫🇷

We boarded an Air France Airbus aircraft, right on time. Eight hours overseas stand between us and our first stop.

Paris is waiting.

The plan is simple and iconic: the Eiffel Tower.

Dubai will come next.

But for now—Paris.

Between departure and arrival. ✈️

We drove to Ruby Falls for the day. A simple trip. No overnight bags. A cool—though not cold—morning that made the drive feel easy. The grounds were dressed for Christmas, lights and decorations woven into the landscape, festive without feeling busy. Then the elevator. It drops 260 feet underground, and the shift is immediate. Light…

  • Museum of the Future

A late night, then an early start. Only three hours of sleep…but we had to move. Our tickets were timed, already purchased, and there was no flexibility. We chose skip-the-line access to beat the crowds, and it was absolutely the best call. The museum fills up quickly, and arriving early made a big difference. Some…

  • After We Got There

Arrival didn’t feel abrupt. It felt earned. By the time we reached Perfect Day at CocoCay, the ship had already reset the pace. CocoCay met us where we were—quiet, open, unhurried. We spent the day at an adults-only beach area. No schedule. No announcements. Just water that stayed calm and chairs that didn’t ask to…

  • Burj Khalifa

After the Musuem of the Future, we returned to the hotel for a quick lunch and then a nap. Naps aren’t typical on vacation, but this one was necessary. A much-needed reset to move forward. Tonight was for the Burj Khalifa. A VIP experience. Skip-the-line access. Finally, it was time. We caught an Uber to…

  • Leaving, Before Arriving

Leaving happens in layers. First the skyline thins out. Miami pulls back just enough to notice. The port feels busy until it doesn’t. Distance does the quiet work quickly. That’s when the ship takes over. Smoke lifts from the top deck—not dramatic, just functional. Proof that movement has consequences. The engines don’t pretend to be…
